Be a Specialty Volunteer
Specialty Volunteers help the First Night Chatham Committee with a variety of setup work, and with jobs that require special skills.
Many of our Special Events would not exist without the specialty volunteers who staff them - such as Face Painting, Childrens Art Studio,
the Teen events, the Carnival Caper Costumed Road Race, and the Horse-drawn Wagon Rides.
In addition, specialty volunteer crews also help the First Night Chatham Committee with setup of fencing, luminaries, lighting, outdoor speakers, benches and signs at bus stops, and more.
By investing as little as a few hours on one or two days of the year, you can help sustain the First Night Chatham tradition, and still have time for enjoying other First Night Chatham festivities.
To let our committee know of your interest in helping as a Specialty Volunteer, please send email to the First Night Chatham Chairperson at
Ring in the New Year with some adorable children and great volunteers. Nearly five hundred children and adults had their faces painted last year during the afternoon at the Middle School. All supplies will be provided and training is available.
