Chatham artist Marguerite “Peg” Falconer created a scene depicting the First Night Chatham celebration of New Year’s Eve in Chatham. The print is titled “Remembering First Night Chatham”. Peg was a beloved Chatham artist who owned a gallery for many years, and helped found the Chatham Creative Arts Center. Prints remaining after Peg’s death have been kindly donated by Peg’s family to First Night Chatham, which is pleased to celebrate the artistry of an artist who loved Chatham and First Night Chatham.
First Night Chatham is pleased to offer these limited edition prints (measuring 18-1/2" x 23") for sale online, at a special price of $25. For online orders, you may pick up the print locally (from a First Night Chatham committee member, or at First Night Chatham Headquarters in December), or have the print shipped for $5 extra.

In 1992, renowned Cape Cod artist Elizabeth Mumford created a unique painting depicting the celebration of
New Year’s Eve in Chatham. The first First Night Chatham took place on December 31st, 1991.
This charming street scene, with the harbor in the background,
depicts performers and patrons enjoying the ambiance of New Year’s Eve on Main Street, and
is surrounded by Elizabeth Mumford’s signature black border,
with bronze stenciled scallop shells in the corners, and the verse,
“To the Old Year, Adieu, great Joy to the New”
